Benedikt Tolar

He studied at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Prague (1989-1993) and the Higher Technical School in Prague (1993-1995) and then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (1996-2002) at the sculpture school of Karel Nepraš and the painting school of Vladimír Skrepl. He has been teaching at Campanus Primary School in Prague (2001-2002), Higher Art School of Applied Arts in Písek (2006-2007), since 2005 at the Institute of Art and Design at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, currently working as a specialist assistant of the sculptural studio of Jiří Beránek . He lives and works in Pilsen and Manětín.
Benedikt Tolar began to exhibit himself after 2000, e.g. in the ad-astra Gallery in Kuřim, 2005, St. Petersburg Gallery in Pilsen, 2008, University Gallery in Pilsen (with Luděk Míšek), 2010, in the gallery Chodovská tvrz in Prague (with Denisa Krausová), 2011, he participated in many group and thematic exhibitions. His work is also the work of the artist Mára from Hřebejk´s film Pupendo.
