She privately studied at the painter Jaroslav Kantor, worked in health care, recently she worked as a pedagogue at the Secondary Medical School in Pilsen. It deals with painting, drawing and used graphics, illustrated several books. She is also a literary actor, she publishes in the regional magazine Plž (Snail), where her first independent collection Chairs was published. Currently, she is the chairman of the P89 art group. The painted way of Květa Monhartová unfolded from a realistic concept of a figure and especially a portrait to a relaxed expressive expression in the spirit of new figuration in the 1960s and 1970s and in recent decades to postmodern picture stories where, in addition to human figures, the role and anthropomorphic forms of animals and things play important roles. The works reflect the intellectual creation of the author and her concept of a man in the spirit of Jung´s deep psychology. She has participated in a number of group and thematic exhibitions (especially P89) in Bohemia and abroad, she has been exhibiting independently since the mid-1970s (Volyně, Pilsen, Prague, Písek, Rokycany, Františkovy Lázně, Regensburg, Copenhagen), her last independent exhibitions were in Klatovy (GKK, Galerie U Bílého jednorožce, 2004) and in Domažlice (Špillar's Brothers Gallery, 2006). The work in Artotéka is a representative example of her work.
