Marcela Kubíková

Kubíková creates unusually big, rather picture formats using classic pencil or pen-and-ink drawing techniques, which enable detailed and naturalistic renderings. Her works are characterized not only by exciting imagination and high aesthetic attractiveness, but also by a clear ethical message. Since 2000 she has been a regular participant in the Central European, later on International Drawing Biennial held in Plzeň. In 2000 she won the Special Prize of the Mayor of the City of Plzeň at the biennial, and in 2006 she was awarded an honourable certificate of top quality.
